This full-scope ACT summer course prepares students for all four tested sections: Math, English, Reading, and Science. Through 13 small-group sessions—5 math-focused classes on Fridays and 8 verbal/science sessions on Saturdays—students will build foundational content knowledge, test-specific strategies, and confidence to excel on the ACT.
ACT Math
Students will reinforce core concepts in algebra, geometry, and trigonometry, while practicing time management and test-specific strategies. Each session focuses on problem-solving, formula application, and interpreting complex question formats with confidence.Key topics include:
Linear and quadratic equations
Functions and inequalities
Ratios, proportions, and percentages
Plane and coordinate geometry
Trigonometric relationships
Word problem strategies and pacing
ACT English
Instruction targets grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure as well as rhetorical skills needed to revise and edit passages. Students learn to correct common grammar mistakes and enhance clarity and flow.
Key topics include:
Subject-verb agreement & verb tense
Modifier placement
Punctuation rules (commas, colons, dashes)
Transitions and logic
Clarity, conciseness, and style
ACT Reading
Students build reading comprehension and critical analysis through practice with all four passage types: literary narrative, social science, humanities, and natural science.
Focus areas include:
Skimming and timing strategies
Identifying main ideas and author’s tone
Inference and evidence-based questions
Comparing paired passages
ACT Science
Emphasis is on data interpretation, scientific reasoning, and understanding experimental design. No prior science content knowledge is needed.
Skills developed:
Analyzing charts, graphs, and tables
Understanding variables and experimental results
Drawing logical conclusions
Evaluating conflicting viewpoints
Ideal for: Rising 10th–12th graders seeking comprehensive ACT preparation in a summer format.
